Total Protection - Total Security
The coded "Key" must be inserted into the lock to provide a means of operating the lock. Turning the key operates the valve and also moves an inner casing which traps the key within the lock. The outer case is held stationary by the valve body. The key tool cannot be removed from the lock until the lock is returned to the "Key Free" status. The lock is fully adjustable to allow for valve seat or packing wear.
If required, the lock can be adjusted to allow the key tool to be removed at any point after a specified number of turns are made. This allows for an overrun for bedding in of new seats etc. on a lock that is "Key Free" closed.
Basic Operation
Fitting
As the lock is supplied in a specified "Key Free" position, the valve should be put into the same position as the "Key Free" requirement (lock key free closed, therefore close valve).
The lock is located onto the valve and is retained by the anti-tamper fixing nut or bolt supplied with the lock.
The lock is now ready for use.
